Strenuous physical activity can temporarily increase CK in particular. You should therefore avoid intense exercise before your blood test and always follow the preparation instructions provided for the health check.

How often should you have a health check?

How the blood test works

Once the laboratory has analysed the samples, your results become available digitally together with the laboratory’s reference ranges. When all results are available, you can complete the health questionnaire and request your doctor’s report.

Before your blood test and receiving your results

Always read the information under “Before your blood test or examination” before providing your sample. This explains what applies regarding fasting, the time of sampling, medication and supplements.

Results are often available within a few days of sampling, although turnaround times may vary depending on the laboratory, analysis and sample collection location. You will usually receive your results within 1–5 working days.

What happens if a test result is abnormal?

If a test result falls outside the reference range, this will be shown in your digital results view in our test results service. In the doctor’s report, a licensed doctor makes a medical assessment of the results and explains whether any value may need further follow-up.

If a result is significantly abnormal or considered to require urgent attention, a doctor may also contact you by telephone to explain the result and provide guidance on the next steps.

To activate your referral, simply follow the instructions that you will receive via email after completing the purchase. Before the sampling

  • Fast for 10 hours before sampling.
  • Leave the test before 10:00 in the morning.
  • The test contains markers with diurnal variation and should therefore be submitted before 10:00 in the morning.
  • Medicines and dietary supplements: Avoid intake of any iron tablets on the same day as the test if your test contains the marker iron. Postpone the intake of any thyroid medication until after the sample is taken and avoid dietary supplements or drugs with a high content of biotin before tests relating to thyroid markers.
  • Rest for 15 minutes in place on the sampling device.
  • Bring identification.
