Do you have symptoms and problems that could be due to a pollen allergy? This test measures the most common allergens in Sweden, including birch, alder and hazel, grass and gray nest, as well as other pollen markers that can cause allergic reactions. To identify which allergen(s) your body has formed IgE antibodies against, this test can be a first step.

Pollen allergy is a common condition in Sweden, about 30% of the population has a pollen allergy according to the Asthma and Allergy Association. A pollen allergy can cause a variety of unpleasant symptoms during the pollen season. If you suffer from an allergy to pollen, you may experience symptoms such as:

  • Sneezing
  • Congested or runny nose
  • Itching in the eyes, nose or throat
  • Stinging, watery or itchy eyes
  • Coughing or irritation in the trachea
  • Difficulty breathing or asthmatic problems
  • Fatigue and reduced energy
  • Headache
  • Swelling or redness of the face or eyes

Detailed test results for each allergen

Your test results are reported for each specific allergen (allergy marker) included. The allergy test should not be confused with common allergy panels where you do not see which specific allergen you may have a hypersensitivity to or are allergic to.

An allergy test cannot detect an allergy with 100% certainty. The test is a guide that can give an indication of which pollen allergen you are allergic to, but it is important to remember that the test results should only be seen as part of the overall picture that your doctor or allergy specialist takes into account in case of diagnosis and treatment.
