Immunity profile Covid-19

8 Biomarkers
Capillary sample
Capillary sample
Capillary sampling (prick-in-the-finger), is carried out using a disposable lancet that is placed against the tip of the finger next to the flower of the finger. The healthcare staff then collects a few drops of blood in a test tube or alternatively on a biofilter, (DBS card).

Information

Through a few drops of blood from a capillary blood sample (prick-in-the-finger), an advanced analysis is carried out. With the help of the latest technology, your antibodies are analyzed for the covid variants Omikron and Wuhan. The data is compiled into a so-called immunity profile, which gives you a deeper insight into your immune system for covid-19.

Antibodies play an essential role in the immune system because they protect your body against unknown invaders, such as the SARS-CoV-2 virus. Depending on several factors such as the concentration of antibodies, their effectiveness and quality, your immunity is affected.

Antibody analysis - what does your protection look like?

Do you suspect you have had covid-19? Do you want to know if you developed antibodies after vaccination? Or are you just curious to find out more about your antibodies, concentration, quality and which covid variant you have the best protection against?

Several questions about our protection against covid-19 are unanswered and we may not be able to get answers to all of them. But through this specific immunity profile for covid-19, you can get a deeper insight about your immune system and specifically your antibodies against covid-19.

Why should I do an immunity profile

The test has been developed for you who want to get a more detailed indication of how effective your antibodies are in a situation where you could potentially be exposed to SARS-CoV-2. The immunity profile includes the following test results for the Omikron and Wuhan variants:

  • Total immune response
  • Antibody quality
  • IgG antibody concentration
  • Total specific immune response

Total immune response

Value for identifying one or more substances, eg antibodies and or serum proteins, binds quickly to the virus and makes it difficult for it to spread further in the body.

Antibody quality

This value tells how long antibodies block the virus, i.e. prevents it from spreading.

IgG antibody concentration

This value shows the concentration of IgG antibodies and is what common antibody tests refer to. IgG antibodies are what a vaccine normally aims to create because the body has an ability to retain them for a long time. It gives a good picture of your protection for at least the next month.

Total specific immune response

This value gives a good picture of how the body can prevent spread at the moment (1 week) but does not say much about how it looks in the future. One or more substances, eg antibodies (IgA, IgM or IgG) bind strongly to the virus and make it more difficult for it to spread further in the body.

What can I expect from the test answer?

The immunity profile can demonstrate whether you have developed antibodies against the new coronavirus, either through vaccination or if you have had the disease covid-19. Antibodies usually develop after 2–3 weeks after infection. The test is therefore not suitable for diagnosing an acute infection.

Information

Antibodies are part of the body's immune system.

It is important that you follow the specific instructions regarding fasting, time of sampling and any medications before you leave your sample. If there are specific indications for your test, you will find them above in the yellow information box. If you follow the steps below, you will be well prepared regardless of which test your sampling is for:

  • Fasting for 10 hours before sampling.
  • Leave the test before 10:00 in the morning.
  • Rest for 15 minutes in place on the sampling unit.
  • Bring valid identification.

The referral is available digitally at the sampling unit. Here you can read our guidelines for leaving samples.

How does it work?

Master your health - three easy steps

1. Order a health check

Choose a health check or create your own by adding optional health tests to your cart. An e-referral is created and sent digitally to the sampling unit you have chosen.

Show more health tests

2. Leave the blood sample

Immediately after completing the purchase and receiving the order confirmation, you can leave samples at the selected reception. Your referral is valid for 5 months.

Show all clinics

3. Results with medical assessment

You will receive your test answers within 1-5 working days. The test results are displayed continuously after each completed analysis. When all the test results have been reported, you will receive an overall assessment by a doctor - valid when purchasing a health check.
