Ferritin is a good marker for checking the body's iron stores. By measuring ferritin, you can discover if you have an iron deficiency through low levels of ferritin. This is because ferritin is a protein in the body that binds iron. Your amount of ferritin in your blood shows how much iron you have stored in your body. A lack of iron often leads to, among other things, lack of energy and fatigue.
This is how it works: The test is a blood sample that is taken by capillary sampling, pricking the finger.
Sample response: You normally have a response within 15 working days after our lab receives your sample. The test answer is sent digitally to your e-mail. Together with your test answer, you will receive a report in English about your values.
Iron is a mineral that we get through the food we eat. Iron is needed to form hemoglobin, which is found in red blood cells. Hemoglobin captures the oxygen in the lungs and then transports it further out to the body's cells and tissues.
By measuring the levels of ferritin, a possible iron deficiency can be detected if the result indicates that the availability of ferritin is low.
The test is not in stock yet and will be launched shortly.
The sampling is performed by experienced staff at one of our clinics in Stockholm and Gothenburg. Test results and (including any travel certificate) are sent digitally via e-mail.
We will always send you the test result within the same day.
