A passion for prevention
For Hannah, the transition from traditional healthcare to preventive health is a natural one. She believes that medicine is about more than just treating disease—it is also about preserving health.
– To me, preventive health means staying one step ahead. It’s about preventing diseases and symptoms before they arise, ultimately contributing to long-term wellbeing, she explains.
During her years in traditional healthcare, she has often encountered patients asking for exactly this: the tools to understand their bodies in time.
– Many people want more insight and information on how to maintain their health rather than just reacting when something is already wrong. That’s why it feels so important that we can offer this knowledge in an accessible and easy-to-understand way.
How Hannah lives herself
Despite her extensive medical knowledge, Hannah is careful to emphasize that health doesn’t have to be complicated. For her, it’s about balance and sustainable routines.
– Exercise has always been a big part of my life, both for physical health and mental wellbeing. I like to vary my workouts to stay motivated. But I also prioritize recovery, good sleep, and a balanced diet. That gives the body the best conditions to perform.
Do you have any “non-negotiable” daily routine?
– I try to make sure I get a walk or some form of movement every day, preferably in daylight. It makes a big difference to my energy levels.
Insights from personal test results
Hannah sees it as natural to regularly test her own values. Even for a doctor, results can provide valuable reminders of how the body is actually doing beneath the surface.
– It turned out that I, like many others, had a vitamin D deficiency, Hannah says.
The result didn’t surprise her, but it provided reassuring confirmation that her overall lifestyle was working well.
– It felt reassuring to know that most of my results looked good and that my current habits seem to be working well for my body.
However, the insight did lead to a few concrete adjustments in her daily routine to further optimize her health.
– I’ve started taking vitamin D supplements and try to spend time outdoors in sunlight whenever possible. Otherwise, I try to pay more attention to the quality of fats in my diet to maintain a healthy lipid profile.
Meeting the patient – making numbers understandable
As a physician at Testmottagningen.se, Hannah’s role is often to act as a guide in a world of numbers and biomarkers. She sees herself as a link between technical data and the patient’s real-life experience.
– I really enjoy helping people better understand their own bodies, for example by connecting symptoms with what the test results actually show. Without that connection, it’s difficult for most people to know what to do with their results.
Hannah describes her role as both attentive and guiding. Whether a patient feels uncertain about which tests are needed or needs help interpreting results, the goal remains the same: to communicate clearly.
– I try to explain everything in a way that is easy to understand without overly complicated medical language, and relate the results to how they may present in the individual. When questions arise, I aim to provide clear and comprehensive answers and take the time to listen to the patient and all their thoughts and concerns.
What kind of feedback do you receive from your patients?
– Most people express great appreciation for our fast communication and follow-up, and for feeling truly listened to. Many feel that their concerns haven’t been acknowledged elsewhere and are grateful for the opportunity to get tested and receive quick, accessible answers.
