Quick version
Helene chose to undergo a comprehensive health check to understand the cause of her persistent fatigue and to get an overall picture of her health. The results were largely within normal ranges, but showed mildly low iron levels as well as suboptimal vitamin D and B12 levels—factors that likely contributed to her symptoms.
With clear, personalized feedback from a doctor, Helene received a concrete plan for supplements and follow-up. For her, the health check provided both reassurance and practical guidance, helping her take a proactive and preventive approach to her health.
For many, getting a health check has become a way to gain a better understanding of how the body is doing, even when you basically feel healthy. It is often about getting answers to diffuse symptoms, following up on your health over time or simply creating security through knowledge.
For Helene, the health check was a step towards getting answers to why she felt unusually tired during the fall and at the same time a broad review of her health for the first time in a very long time.
- I have never really done any major review of my health before. But last fall I started feeling unusually tired, a little lack of energy and had difficulty really catching up even though I slept okay. Then I felt it was time to find out what it actually looked like, says Helene.
A health check with over 50 blood tests
Helene chose to carry out Health check for women, one of our most popular examinations that provides a simple overview of, among other things, blood status, iron, vitamins, thyroid, liver, kidneys, blood sugar and blood fats.
- It felt safe that there were so many tests and that I could leave the tests at a regular health center. I wasn't sure what to choose, but it felt good if I could try to get a complete picture. If you take the step anyway, you really want to get answers, she says.
Overall good results - but some values to follow up
When the test results came in, they showed that Helene's health looked good overall. Most markers were completely within the reference range. At the same time, there were some values that could be related to why she felt more tired.
- What stood out was that my iron level was a little low, which also meant that my Hb ended up in the gray zone. It was actually nice to find a small explanation for why I might not have really felt like I usually do.
In addition to the iron, there was also room to increase both vitamin D and vitamin B12. No serious deviations, but enough to justify measures and follow-up.
A clear feedback
After the samples were analyzed, Helene received personal feedback from the Doctor, where the results were put into context and explained in an understandable way.
- I really appreciated that it wasn't just numbers. I got help to understand the big picture, I think, what is important to do now and what is actually nothing to worry about. It made everything feel serious and structured, she says.
The plan ahead became clear: Helene will now adjust her intake of iron, vitamin D and B12 with the help of supplements, and then follow up on her blood status and the abnormal markers within 6–8 weeks to evaluate the tests but above all her well-being.
"It feels good to be one step ahead"
For Helene, the health check was not only a way to explain the fatigue - but also a way to take control of her health and contribute to change.
- It actually feels good to know what it looks like instead of just going around guessing. Now I know what I need to work on in the near future, and I don't have to think about whether there is something serious behind it.
She describes the experience as both safe and motivating, and sees the follow-up as a natural continuation.
- I will definitely follow up on the tests. It feels good to be able to see in black and white whether the measures are making a difference. And now that I've started, it feels pretty obvious to continue to monitor my health in the future.
Helene's story is an example of how a health check can provide both reassurance and concrete answers, even when the results are mostly good. Sometimes it's not about finding something serious, but about making adjustments in time and giving the body the right conditions to feel good.
