Allergens

Allergens are substances, often proteins, that can cause an allergic reaction. There are hundreds of documented allergens, for example dander from fur animals, pollen from plants, milk protein from cows and many different foods. Many allergens are closely related to each other, which can mean that the body reacts to several different allergens, resulting in an allergic reaction.
